1 pound beef stew meat
8 oz sliced mushrooms
2 TBSP oil
28 oz can crushed tomatoes
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
2 TBSP Spice by Rachel Sweet ONION SOUP MIX
Rinse the mushrooms in a colander and set aside. Place the beef pieces on a plate and sprinkle with the 2 tablespoons ONION SOUP MIX.
Add the oil to a large frying pan or a pot and turn heat to medium. Add the mushrooms and cook for 5 minutes. Then add the spiced beef pieces and cook 5 to 10 more minutes, turning so that they brown on all sides. Stir in the tomatoes and cover the pot. Turn the heat to its lowest setting and simmer for 30 to 45 minutes.
Pour in the red wine vinegar. Stir well and replace the cover. Cook for 5 more minutes. Serve over rice or egg noodles.
