How to: Pre-measured Mixes
Pre-measured bags make mealtime easy and streamlined. Bags come in 1 Tablespoon or 2 Tablespoon sizes. Simply snip open using scissors and add the contents of the bag to your recipe. The bags are made from plant-derived resin and are compostable for an eco-friendly lifestyle.
How to: Bulk Bags
Using our bulk bags is easy! Simply tear to open and use what you need. The bags stand up on their own. Reseal to keep the remaining mix fresh.
Eco-conscious: Kraft Paper Packaging
We use Kraft paper for our bags and boxes because is stronger than traditional paper (it has lower lignin content and a higher sulfur ratio). We also chose Kraft paper because it doesn’t require the extensive bleaching process that traditional paper does, making it suitable for packaging food products. Even better, almost all of the chemicals used in the manufacture of Kraft paper are recovered and reused, making it a sustainable choice.
Eco-conscious: Glassine Bags
Glassine is a glossy paper made with 100% wood pulp through the process of "supercalendering".
Wood pulp is treated and filtered through a wire cloth to drain out excess water. Then it's “calendered” (pressed between cylinders called calendars). The paper product is "calendered" multiple times over.
The finished product is actually modified on a cellular level. The capillaries of the paper fibers are broken down, yielding high density, low porosity, and the signature glossy finish.
Because Glassine is made entirely with paper, it is curbside recyclable and compostable, making it a great choice for our products!
Eco-conscious: Sugarcane Labels
It was important to us to find eco-friendly labels to go on our compostable packing. Our labels are made from unbleached sugarcane paper with a compostable adhesive. These labels have been certified compostable by the manufacturer according to the specified testing per ASTM D6400 and EN 13432.
Eco-conscious: Compostable Measured Bags
We offer convenience and sustainability in our pre-measured mixes. These pre-measured bags take about 90 days to break down in a home composting setting. These bags are made from PLA (polylactic acid) which is derived from corn starch and sugar cane. They are ASTM D 6400 and DIN EN 13432 certified by the manufacturer.
Eco-conscious: Recipe Cards
We use paper with a Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification rather than the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) certification. We chose this certification because of important differences between the two.

FSC prohibits the use of genetically-modified organisms (GMOs), while SFI allows their use

FSC prohibits bioaccumulative pesticides, while SFI recommends their "prudent" use

FSC prohibits the conversion of natural forest to plantations, while SFI not only allows that conversion but also certifies wood from those forests
Eco-conscious: Compostable Zippered Bags
We searched high and low until we found a completely compostable bag to use for our bulk sizes. These bags are made of bio-based compostable polymers and are certified compostable in industrial composting environments. The zipper is completely compostable too!
