1/2 cup water
1 tsp Spice by Rachel Sweet PUMPKIN PIE MIX
Wash and core the apples and slice into quarters. No need to peel as the peel adds flavor and color to the sauce. Add the apple quarters and the water to a large saucepan. Cover, and heat on low heat. Cook for 1 hour, then shut off the heat. Working in batches, add the apples to a blender and blend until pureed. Add the puree to a large bowl and then transfer any remaining apples to the blender. Once all apples have been blended, stir the teaspoon of PUMPKIN PIE MIX into the sauce and taste test. Mix well to incorporate the mix. Serve warm or chilled.
